The hub I received was not a cone and cup, but a cartridge bearing Modus. They also have axle adapters now too.Maxnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2892223089844868550.post-49323821728221797292009-08-20T17:13:19.598-07:002009-08-20T17:13:19.598-07:00Very interesting, thanks for the details and expla...Very interesting, thanks for the details and explanation. I've often wondered about these weight limits on my Madsen (600 lbs? C'mon...) with respect to the rear wheel, but it seems sturdy enough. Can't wait to see how you test the Mundo when your parts arrive...Matt in Tacomahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18179021767214712543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2892223089844868550.post-2596224671221600252009-08-20T07:24:43.715-07:002009-08-20T07:24:43.715-07:00I agree that the stock Mundo rear hub is plenty st...I agree that the stock Mundo rear hub is plenty strong, it's just that you don't need such a big axle for it to be that strong if you use a freehub instead of a freewheel. The rub is that you need a good (read: pricey) freehub to get to the same strength as the cheap freewheel hub with a 14mm axle, and theay each have different dropout requirements. Yuba went with the cheap choice, I want an 11-34T cassette!melanthiushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09246040307098563553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2892223089844868550.post-64533605273466095652009-08-20T02:25:20.618-07:002009-08-20T02:25:20.618-07:00Hi, We will watch your progress with intrest. We often haul 3 kids plus baggage/groceries on our Yuba and I wonder how a more expensive but perhaps softer hub would put up with the abuse.<br />Great blog by the way !Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04479364463181427948noreply@blogger.com
